Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
SabjiHisab ("we", "the app") is a business record-keeping app for mandi traders and their customers, operated in India at sabjihisab.in. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, mobile number, business/shop name and city, and a securely hashed password. (We never store your password in readable form.)
- Business records you enter — your customers and suppliers (name, optional phone and area), daily rates, orders, purchases, payments and credit (udhaar) entries, deliveries and expenses.
- Photos you choose to scan— if you use the "order from photo" feature, the photograph of that order slip is processed to read the items on it.
- Basic usage information — which screens and actions are used, and technical logs (including IP address) needed to keep the service secure and working.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, photos other than ones you explicitly submit, or any advertising identifiers. We use no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service — your rates, orders, billing and udhaar ledger.
- To let customers place orders with the trader whose code they entered.
- To secure accounts, verify your number, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To produce aggregated, anonymised market insights (for example, how much of a crop was traded in a city, and at what average price). These aggregates never identify you, your customers or your individual transactions.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- Between you and your trading partner — an order you place in the customer app is visible to the trader you connected to, and a trader sees the records they create.
- Anthropic— order-slip photos you submit are sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to read the items on them; they are not used to train models.
- MSG91 — your mobile number, when an SMS verification code is sent.
- Legal — if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users.
Sharing a bill or reminder on WhatsApp is always your action: the app simply opens WhatsApp with a message you can review and send. WhatsApp's own policy then applies.
4. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on secured servers in a data centre in India. Passwords are hashed. Each trader's records are separated so other traders cannot see them. Access to production systems is restricted and key-based. Backups are taken daily. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take these safeguards seriously.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and business records for as long as your account is active, since the ledger is a financial history you may need later. Verification codes are short-lived and deleted after use. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data and business records from live systems within 30 days (residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period).
6. Your rights and choices
- Access or correct your information from within the app.
- Export your ledger and reports at any time (CSV and PDF).
- Delete your account yourself from within the app, or see how to delete your account. You can also write to support@sabjihisab.in.
7. Children
SabjiHisab is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
